Gotu kola is a small creeping plant with fan-shaped leaves, treasured for centuries in Ayurveda and traditional Asian medicine as a plant of renewal. Today it is one of the most studied botanicals in skin care.

Its leaves are rich in natural compounds called triterpenes, including asiaticoside, madecassoside, and asiatic acid. Research suggests these compounds may help to:

• Calm the skin by soothing redness and irritation
• Protect against everyday stress by strengthening the skin’s own antioxidant defenses
• Support skin repair and the natural renewal of healthy tissue
• Improve elasticity for skin that looks firmer and more supple

We steep the leaves in organic extra virgin olive oil to create a gentle, restorative oil for dry, sensitive, or tired-looking skin. Use it on its own, or blend it at 5 to 25% into facial serums, body oils, and balms.
